HL1025 - White Vinyl: HL1025 is a non-reinforced vinyl film that is approximately .003" thick. White Vinyl has historically been the most popular choice for a metal building insulation vapor retarder primarily due to it's economic price. We do not recommend vinyl facings for use during winter construction, as they can tear or crack very easily in temperatures below 45 degrees. Vinyl has a perm rating of 1.0 - 1.3. CL5050 - Light Duty Polypropylene Scrim Kraft: CL5050 is comprised of a white polypropylene film, a fiberglass scrim net (for reinforcement), a flame resistant adhesive, and kraft paper. CL5050 is the most economically priced white reinforced product available. The fiberglass scrim net combined with the fact that polypropylene films do not react to cold temperatures (like vinyls), make CL5050 an excellent choice for year round construction. CL5050 has a perm rating of .09. For more information, request FactsBack document #10100.
CL5010 - Standard Duty Polypropylene Scrim Kraft: CL5010 is comprised of a white metallized polypropylene film, a fiberglass scrim net (for reinforcement), a flame resistant adhesive, and kraft paper. CL5010 differs from CL5050 in that the polypropylene film has been metallized. This process reduces the perm rating of CL5010 to .02. The most popular vapor retarder we sell, CL5010 has an attractive appearance, excellent perm rating, low temperature workability, and an economic price. For more information, request FactsBack document #10110.
CL5000 - Heavy Duty Polypropylene Scrim Kraft: CL5000 is comprised of the same components as CL5010, except that the kraft paper is heavier. For more information, request FactsBack document #10120.
CL1510 - Polypropylene Scrim Polyester: CL1510 is comprised of a white metallized polypropylene film, a fiberglass scrim net (for reinforcement), and polyester film. CL1510 is another option for low temperature workability, and has a perm rating of .02. For more information, request FactsBack document #10130.
SL1135 - Foil Scrim Kraft: The exposed side of SL1135 is a sheet of aluminum foil, so unlike the other products on this page, it is silver. SL1135 has a fiberglass scrim net (for reinforcement), a flame resistant adhesive, and kraft paper. SL1135 has a perm rating of .02, and is quite strong. For more information, request FactsBack document #10130.
CL2000 - Vinyl Reinforced Polyester: CL2000 consists of a white vinyl film, a fiberglass scrim net (for reinforcement), and a metallized polyester film. The polyester film is an especially strong substrate, and when combined with the scrim net provides one of the strongest vapor retarders available. CL2000 is attractive, and has a perm rating of .02.
